Now that it’s summer time, it’s super important to make sure you adjust your hair regimen to the changing weather! Those extra thick butters may not be as necessary for everyone’s hair right now since the air is a little thicker and its extremely humid out.
After a quick co-wash in the shower (washing hair using only a light conditioner rather than a shampoo to prevent drying-out), I began moisturizing my 3a-3c hair in sections using the the growth lotion.
I moisturized my hair section by section, then flat-twisted each section of hair so that I ended up with about 4 twists on each side of my head.
I let the twists dry overnight, and took them out when they were fully dry in the morning! The results were GREAT! The lotion kept my hair VERY shiny, but not weighed down. My hair was still voluminous and not stringy as some oil-based moisturizes can cause it to appear.
I do have to say, though, that my favorite part about the growth lotion was that it smelled like vanilla cake batter. I can’t be the only girl who LOVES when her hair smells good! It seriously makes my whole day 1000x better. Not to mention the fact that the ingredients are NATURAL and not filled with a ton of chemicals!
Another great thing is that a little goes a long way, and it’s easy to cover your entire head of natural hair without over-doing it. The consistency feels water-based (being that it’s a lotion, not a butter), so it’s not heavy at all! It more so feels like a serum than cream, but as stated earlier, it’s perfect for the summer- lightweight and effective!
Being that my hair is pretty fine, I didn’t use a sealant (an oil or thicker cream atop the product to prevent moisture from evaporating), but if you have thicker hair, course hair, or hair that is a little more dense, I would recommend using a cream on top of this lotion or a light weight oil like coconut oil for the finishing touch!
You can purchase the Daily Moisturizing Growth Lotion here. It comes in 4oz, 8oz, and 12oz sizes.
Overall, I think this product was great and I definitely give this product the PrettyGirl seal of approval!
