Beautiful Textures Product Line Review!

Hello Pretty People!

If you keep up with our blog then you may remember a post from a few weeks ago regarding the Sally Beauty Blogger Event I hosted. As a brief refresher, the lovely folks from Strength of Nature sent me a box full of goodies from their Beautiful Textures brand. At the time, I had a sew in and wasn’t able to use the products but once I took it out, I used the entire line of products to wash and style my hair. My reviews of each product are below!

I have type 4 hair. 4A hair in the front and 4B hair in the back.

I started my wash day with a pre-poo using olive oil and let that sit for about 30 minutes. Following the pre-poo, I used the Beautiful Textures Tangle Taming Moisturizing Shampoo. It smells great (actually all the products from this line smell heavenly) buuuut it’s not my favorite shampoo. I have extremely thick hair and it didn’t detangle quite how I wanted it to but I’m sure our 3c PrettyGirls will love it!

I followed with the the the Rapid Repair Conditioner which I let sit in my hair for about 5 minutes before rinsing out. Again, didn’t make my hair SUPER easy to detangle and my hair needs something a little more moisture focused. I’d recommend it for girls with 2a-3c hair types!

Because my hair eats up moisture, I’m a huge fan of leave-in conditioners. So next I applied the Tangle Taming Leave In Conditioner. This made my hair so much softer but not too much easier to detangle.

Now here’s where my favorites come in! I’ve tried a few curl puddings like Taliah Waajid Curly Curl Cream and Lottabody Moisturize Me Curl and Style Milk but I will have to say that the Beautiful Textures Moisture Butter Whipped Curl Creme is the best I’ve used thus far! Once I combed and detangled my hair, I applied this product all over and used it for a twist out.

Do not overkill with this product! I know us type 4 naturals tend to use a lot more of a product because of our dryness but a little goes a long way!

I covered my hair with a silk bonnet and untwisted the next morning and the results were amazing! This product gave me the best twist out I’ve ever had.

I used the Edges to End Silkener to smooth out my edges and I’m a fan of this product as well! Once again I’ve used plenty of “edge control” and this has become one of my favorites. It doesn’t flake and keep my edges smooth all day long.

My first time using this product was this morning! I went from blow dried hair to flat twists but my hair was still pretty straight from blow drying it. So this morning I applied some of this product to get my curls back until my next wash day and it worked! I’m rocking a puff today and it looks full and feels very moisturized.

Overall, I will rate the Beautiful Textures line a B+ for me. As I said, my hair can get verrrrrry dry so I think the shampoos and conditioners will work better on naturals with finer, oily hair. The other products are bomb though and they smell heavenly!

As we all know, all of our hair responds to products differently so I definitely think the Beautiful Textures line is worth a try! I will definitely be adding some of their products to my routine hair regimen.

That’s all for now!
