Get Toned For Spring With These Fat Burning Ab Exercises

With spring being almost a week away, the season of midriffs and crop tops is upon us!

We here at PeekABoo PrettyGirl have three ab workouts to help you get those abs looking flawless so you can rock your crop tops with confidence.

Workout One: Russian Twists

Russian twists are one of my favorite ab workouts. It helps to work out your abs as well as your obliques. These are also helpful with working out your back. If you are going to work on your abs, you also want to work on strengthening the muscles opposite those you are working on (your back).

How To:

• Sit on the ground with your feet flat and your knees bent. Make sure your back is straight and your torso is at least at 45 degree angle from the floor.

• Raise your arms out in front of you and twist from one side to the next.

• After twisting on both sides, that is considered one rep.

• I would recommend doing at least 3 sets of 15 reps.

 Advanced: Raise your feet off the ground, and hold a weight in your hand while doing the same basic concept.

Workout Two: Crunches

Crunches are an old favorite. Many people choose not to do crunches anymore, but crunches have proven to be very effective in helping me to tone up my core area. For more range, I sometimes do my crunches on a stability ball. I would recommend doing your crunches this way after working out for a while. The stability ball helps to add a bit more of a challenge to your normal crunches. Continue doing your crunches as you normally would, just on a stability ball instead of lying on the floor.

Workout Three: Walking

Yes, you read that right, walking helps to tone up your abs and shed extra belly fat. Walking helps to burn calories. This simple activity can be done throughout your day. Make sure that you are walking at a nice steady, but brisk pace and that you are swinging your arms as you walk. If you can’t find time to go to the gym, you now have no excuse to not squeeze in some exercise throughout your day.

Try to make time for at least 30 mins of exercise daily. Also be sure to maintain a healthy diet. The key to getting your dream abs is all in your diet and exercise. Good luck on your journey to flawless abs!
