The most important skin care tips I’ve learned so far are to first, learn your skin type (oily, normal, combination, etc)! Next, buy the appropriate skin products to match your skin type. This, in addition to drinking looooooots of water will help keep your skin healthy. And of course, don’t forget to remove your makeup EVERY NIGHT. Leaving makeup on your face to buildup will cause acne and bacteria. Whenever I do end up with a breakout, though, I use home remedies for bumps/pimples like Apple Cider Vinegar. All you have to do is mix half water and half apple cider vinegar (maybe 2-3 ounces of each) and apply to pimples until they disappear.
My skin care routine is a little different than most because I go to a dermatologist, with the help of her suggestions I found that products that have benzoyl peroxide works best for my skin. Benzoyl peroxide fights acne before it starts, and if you do have bumps coming up it stops it from forming in its tracks. You do have to get a prescription for this medication.
An over the counter option that I use is Neutrogena oil free face wash. I love this product because it prevents my face from getting oily throughout the day, also I feel clean a refreshed after I use it.
One of my favorite products to use is the Stridex pads for sensitive skin. The Stridex product works wonders for getting unnecessary particles out of your pores. This cleaning pad also prevents acne, which is definitely a plus in my book. It’s a good product to try if you really want a deep clean for your face!
Neutrogena’s rapid clear treatment pads prevent and reduce breakouts on your face within hours. It also helps eliminate long-lasting blackheads by removing dirt and oil that live deep in your pores. Apply one pad to your face in the morning after washing your face and one pad to your face at night after removing your makeup or cleansing your skin before bed!
Purpose is a great product line for sensitive skin. I love using Purpose bar soap and moisturizer. I use these in the morning and they leave my face feeling nice all day; not too oily, not too dry.
My skin care secrets are pretty simple. I drink a lot of water and green tea, and stay away from sodas and sugary drinks, and foods that are overloaded with bad fats and oils. Like Jessica, I also use a homemade ACV toner after exfoliating my face 3-5 times a week, and I moisturize with organic virgin coconut oil which kills acne-causing germs and bacteria!
I wash my face with Mary Kay’s Timewise Cleaner and Moisturizer. I love Mary Kay’s products because they are easy on the skin, they work, and they are well worth the money. In between that time I don’t use anything else on my face but warm water and a soft wash cloth.
This summer I experienced chronic acne for the first time in my life. After getting my face clear, dark spots or spots of inflammation were left behind. To help fade away the dark spots, I use a moisturizer with spf 30 and soy in it. The sunscreen protects my skin from the sun and prevents the spots from getting darker. The soy helps to brighten the spots and leaves my skin glowing!
I’ve had a recent spell with acne and like most people I freaked out! I tried many of the products I’ve been using for a while but nothing seemed to help until I tried the Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask, and it really clears your pores! By suggestion of our VP, Raven, I also started moisturizing with coconut oil at night. It reduces inflammation and redness, making skin appear smoother and feel softer.
