Hi pretty girls!! My apologies for the late write-up. This week I want to talk give you some helpful hints about saving money. Don’t get bored because these tips are important. With Spring Break, birthdays, and graduations coming up, it’s good to have a little extra money for fun things and gifts.
Here are a couple tips to get you to start and keep saving your money:
1. Actually save. Haha.
I know this seems like common sense but that is the first step. Most of us intend to save but after bills and neccesities, saving just doesn’t get done. Even if you set aside a couple dollars after you swing by your favorite fast food place every penny counts. If money burns a hole in your pocket, hide it from yourself. Put it in a place you don’t normally go (for me it’s my car’s glove compartment).
2. Make saving a routine.
Put a reminder in your phone, make sticky notes on your nightstand, write it in your planner….whatever you need to do. 10% of each paycheck is a good number to start out with. Make sure to keep the savings money away from the money you spend on a regular basis.
3. Let the savings accumulate.
If you get paid bi-weekly, let a month go buy before you spend the saved money. You reap more benefits the more you save and the more patience you have.
4. Set a savings goal.
Have a monetary goal and a reason for saving. If it’s for a rainy day or a new bathing suit for the beach, goals make us push harder for what we want!!
These are my helpful tips for saving money! Hope you have a good weekend and stay pretty 🙂
